Linguistic knowledge
Any knowledge which. deals with external structure of the language.
Linguistic knowledge is repres­ented as a system of constr­aints, a grammar, which defines all and only the possible sentences of the language

Discourse analysis

Discourse analysis is a research method for studying written or spoken language in relation to its social context. It aims to understand how language is used in real-life situat­ions.
 

Examples of phonology

Phonology - langua­ge-­spe­cific selection and organi­sation of sounds to signal meanings

Example:
"­sni­ll" - sounds all right
"­fni­ll" - just sounds wrong

Vernacular accent

Definition
Speking in accent, using a language or dialect native to a region or country rather than a literary, cultured, or foreign language.

Approp­ria­teness vs Accuracy of language

Approp­ria­teness
Accuracy
Using approp­riate language means that a speaker's language is suitable or fitting for themse­lves, as the speaker; our audience; the speaking context; and the speech itself.
Accuracy refers to how correct learners' use of the language system is, including their use of grammar, pronun­ciation and vocabu­lary.
