Kinematics - Physics 11 Unit 4 Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

This cheat sheet is a student-friendly guide to understanding motion, including displacement, velocity, acceleration, projectile motion, and free-fall. It’s written based on how I was taught, so some variables or notation might differ slightly from other resources. Key formulas, example problems, and clear explanations are included to help simplify the concepts and problem-solving strategies. Perfect for students like me, educators, or anyone brushing up on kinematics!

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Key Concepts

1. Displacement (d→): Change in position
2. Velocity (v→): Rate of change of displacement. Has both magnitude and direction
a. Initial velocity (vi→): Velocity at the start of the time interval
b. Final Velocity (vf→): Velocity at the end of the time interval.
3. Acceleration (a→): Rate of change of velocity.
4. Time (t→): Duration of motion
5. Gravity (g→): Acceleration due to gravity. g→ = 9.81m/s2 on Earth
6. Projectile Motion: The motion of an object projected into the air, horizontal (x) and vertical (y)

Vector Equations

v→=d→/t (if a→=0)
v→=Δd→/t
v→ins=Δd→/Δt
v→avg=d→total/ttotal
v→avg=(v→i+v→f)/2 (if a→=constant)
a→=Δv→ => v→f=v→i+a→t
d→=(
