Control and Coordination Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

Class 10 CBSE cheat sheet for control and coordination chapter

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Nervous System

All information from our environment is detected by some specialized tips of nerve cells called receptors.
Types of receptors are:
They convert stimulus into electrical impulses that travel from the dendrite to the cell body and along the axon to the end.
Gustatory - Present in Tongue
Then, the converted chemicals cross the synapse and start a similar electrical impulse in the dendrite of the next neuron.
Olfactory - Present in Nose

Thigmo - Present in Skin

Auditory - Present in Ear

Photo - Present in Eyes

Reflex Actions

Reflex actions are sudden involuntary responses which do not involve thinking.
Sequence of a Reflex Arc
Reflex Arc describes the pathway in which the nerve impulse is carried and generation of the response is shown by the effector organ.
1. Receptors = Heat/Pain
Nerves from all over the body meet in a bundle in the spinal cord on their way to the brain. Reflex Arcs are formed in the spinal cord.
2. Sensory Neuron

3. Spinal Cord (Central Nervous System)

4. Message to Brain

5. Relay neuron

6. Motor Neuron

7. Effector Organ
