Pregabalin (Lyrica)
Action: decrease pain |
SE: dizziness, drowsiness, weight gain, altered vision |
Considerations/teaching: w/out food, do not stop taking suddenly, do not crush or chew. Avoid alcohol |

Amitriptyline
Action: antidepressant effect |
SE: dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, orthostatic hypotension, headache, increased appetite, weight gain, nausea, fatigue |
Considerations/teaching: Rise slowly from lying to standing. Therapeutic effect make take 2-4 weeks. Photosensitivity may occur. Do not stop abruptly, avoid activities requiring alertness. |
Duloxetine (Cymbalta)
Action: produces antidepressant effect |
SE: dry mouth, constipation, insomnia, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea |
Considerations/teaching: Therapeutic effect may take 1-4 weeks. Do not abruptly stop. Avoid task requiring alertness. Inform HCP of intended pregnancy. Monitor BP before administering. |
Sertraline
Action: relives depression |
SE: H/A, nausea, dry mouth, diarrhea, insomnia, fatigue, rash |
Considerations/teaching: Take w/food if nausea occurs. Avoid activities requiring alertness. Inform HCP if pregnancy occurs |
