Dialogue Tags
What are they: basically what comes after the quote to designate who is saying it. It is a part of the quotation sentence.
Avoid -ing'ing
ATQ: Action To Quote. "I am going to my sleep."­ He shut the bedroom door.
Fancy-­free: avoid compli­cated adjectives and adverbs in dialogue tags.
KISS: Keep it said simple. Examples: Asked, Whispered, Yelled, Mumbled, Voiced.
Less-ly: he said pleadingly vs he said. Convey the pleading differ­ently.
