Key Words: Acquisition: Describes when the pairing is learnt. Extinction: The gradual weakening of the conditioned response by breaking association. Generalisation: The tendency for the conditioned stimulus to be varied and still result in the conditioned response. Discrimination: The ability to differentiate between the conditioned stimulus and other stimuli. Spontaneous Recovery: When the conditioned response briefly reappears after being extinguished. |
