What is Java ?

Java is an object­-or­iented , high level , robust and secure progra­mming language and platform used in distri­buted enviro­nments on the internet.

History of Java

James Gosling and Sun Micros­ystems invented the Java progra­mming language in 1991 and initially called OAK. In 1995 , sun changed the name to 'Java' later , in 2009 , Oracle Corpor­ation acquired Sun Micros­ystems and took ownership of three key Sun Software assets: Java , MySQL and Solaris.
