Adrenergics Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

Module 2

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Adrenergic Drugs

drugs that mimic or interfere with the functioning of the SNS by affecting the release or action of epinephrine & norepinephrine

Direct & Indirect Sympathomimetics

Some adrenergics are indirect acting, where they stimulate the catacholamines of our own (hormones/ chemicals) to activate the SNS)
Direct acting bind directly with receptor (such as nor-epinephrine)

Alpha-1 Receptors

Vasoconstriction, increase peripheral resistance, increase BP, increase closure of internal sphincter of bladder, mydriasis (pupil dilation)
