WLAN Controller Übung

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Configure a WLAN

STEP 1: Log into the WLAN-C­ont­roller by surfing it's IP address and entering the login creden­tials
STEP 2: Create a new WLAN by going into the WLAN tab and clicking NEW
STEP 3: To enable the WLAN, edit the newly created WLAN and check the ENABLED Box

Configure RADIUS

STEP 1: Under the Security tab open the RADIUS dropdown and click on Authen­tic­ation
STEP 2: Now enter the IP of the RADIUS Server and a Shared secret key

Configure a WPA2 Enterprise WLAN

STEP 1: In the WLAN edit page you can select an Interface
STEP 2: WLAN edit page --> Security tab --> enable AES and 802.1X
STEP 2: WLAN edit page --> Security tab --> AAA Server* --> you can select a RADIUS server
 

Defini­tions

SNMP: Simple Network Management Protocol, allows to monitor the network with log messages (traps)
RADIUS: Remote Authen­tic­ation Dial-In User Service, allows to authorize users going into the network

Configure a new Interface

STEP 1: Controller tab --> Interface --> new
STEP 2: It now allows you to enter an Interface name and a VLAN ID
STEP 3: On the edit page the most important parts are the physical port and the Interface address and the DHCP Server
 

Configure SNMP

STEP 1: Under the Management tab click on TRAP Receivers and click on NEW
STEP 2: Now enter a name and the IP address of the SNMP Server

Configure a DHCP Scope

STEP 1: Controller tab --> Internal DHCP Server dropdown --> DHCP Scope
STEP 2: In the edit page, it allows to configure the Pool, network, default routers and the Status
