Volcano Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

Lessons taught to us in Grade 9 3rd Semester in FTHS. this will contain parts of the volcano, and the kinds of volcanoes.

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

What are Volcanoes?

An Opening in the Earth's Crust, where as Molten Rock, Hot Gases, and other Materials Erupt
A Vent in the Crust where Eruptions occur.

How are Volcanoes Formed?

Magma Rises from hotspots and erupts as lava through cracks in the surface forming volcanoes.

Cone

is the most striking part of the volcano
it is usually composed of mixtures of lava and pyroclastic materials
volcano cones vary in size and shape depending on the type of magma that is ejected by a particular volcano
for instance viscous and slow moving granatic magma creates low to almost flat cones
a Volcanic Cone is the Hill-shaped landform that forms around the volcano
They Can be Steep or Gently Sloping depending on the type of Eruption that form them

Vent

Is the Opening through which an eruption takes place
this main part of a volcano that supplies the magma(from the underlying source to the top of the volcano)
