Education: Expansion of opportunity for black students through black schools, colleges and universities. |
Liberalism: A rise in liberal political beliefs lead to a decline in colour prejudice. |
Media: Rise in mass media such as television created awareness for the civil rights movement. |
Migration: There was a migration of the black community from the South to the North due to the racism in southern states and growing opportunities in northern cities. |
Cold War: The systematic racism was the polar opposite of the ideals of freedom and democracy the US wanted to protect from Communism. |
