Hardware

Defini­tion: The physical parts of a computer that user interacts with directly
Function: Provides the necessary techno­logies for: 1)humans to input data, 2)comp­uters to process the data and then finally 3)to output inform­ation in a way that humans can unders­tand.

Modular design

Main Defini­tion:
A computer consists of separate components and periph­erals instead of one unit.
Other Defini­tion:
The individual parts of computers are separate components rather than the entire system being one unchan­geable unit.
Function:
To easily be able to modify­/ch­ang­e/e­xchange and remove periph­erals or compon­ents.
Commonly Found:
in desktops
Advant­ages:
1)Easy to upgrade:
Explan­ation: Certain components can be added or replaced with better ones if needed.
2)Easy to repair:
Explan­ation:If a component breaks, just that component can be replaced.
