Displays pacemaker activity initiating its own action potentials
Connected by gap-ju­nctions
Innervated by autonomic neuronal fibers
action potentials are longer in duration than both smooth and skeletal muscle
 

Flow of Blood in Heart

Oxygen­-poor blood enters right atrium via the inferior and superior vena cava veins.
Left atrium receives oxygen­-rich blood via left and right pulmonary veins
Right ventricle receives the oxygen­-poor blood and pumps it into the pulmonary artery which is then
