For verbs ending in -ger, add an e before the o in the nous form in order to keep the g sound. ex. mangeons.
For verbs ending in -cer, c becomes ç before the letter o in the nous form to keep c sound.
For verbs ending in -yer, y becomes an i in the singular forms as well as in the 3rd person plural. (For verbs ending in -ayer, we can write either i or y.). ex. envoie.
For many verbs that end in -eler or -eter, the final consonant is doubled before a silent e. except acheter, deceler, geler, haleter, harceler, modeler, peler. ex. il jette (jeter)
If the final syllable of the word stem contains an e or é, we give it a grave accent (accent grave) in its conjugated forms (apart from the 1st and 2nd person plural). ex. peser: je pèse
Verbs ending in -aitre, example connaitre: je connai, tu connais, il connait, nous connaissons, vous connaissez, ils connaissent.
Many verbs that end in -ire are irregular and change their stem in plural form. ex boire: je bois, tu bois, il boit, nous buvons, vous buvez, ils boivent.
verbs that end in -dre/ -tre: -s, -s, -, -ons, -ez, -ent
The verb prendre and its related forms apprendre, comprendre, surprendre, etc. lose the d in their plural forms. The n is doubled in the ils/elles form. ex: prendre, ils prennent.
Verbs that end in -indre (atteindre, craindre, éteindre, joindre, peindre, plaindre, teindre ...) lose the d in the singular and plural forms. We transform the n to gn in the plural forms. ex. peindre – je peins, tu peins, il/elle/on peint, nous peignons, vous peignez, ils/elles peignent
